National Reconciliation Week
This year National Sorry Day falls on Sunday 26 May and is a day when we pause to remember the Stolen Generations of Australia’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
It leads us into the Week of Prayer for Reconciliation and National Reconciliation Week which is held each year between 27 May and 3 June.
The theme for National Reconciliation Week 2024 is, Now More Than Ever.
On Monday some of our students will accompany Mrs Morgan, Aunty Jo and Uncle Mark on the annual reconciliation walk.
Kinder Enrolment Interviews
We have begun the exciting Kinder enrolment interview process. It is such a joy meeting all the new families and welcoming them to our wonderful community. Plenty of nervous children and parents! The interviews will continue over the next couple of weeks and offers of enrolment will be published to families in Week 9.
Mini Vinnies
The Mini Vinnies Team, under the guidance of Mr Dodds, have approached me to see if they can hold a 'Careers Day' at Stella Maris. They are asking all students to dress as their dream job on THURSDAY 13 JUNE and bring in a gold coin donation. Keep your eye out for a compass message, with an expression of interest for parents to nominate if they would like to come and share their profession!
God Bless

On Sunday, we celebrated Pentecost, the day when we give thanks for the descent of the Holy Spirit upon the disciples and followers of Jesus (Acts 2:1- 31). Pentecost marks the official end of the Easter season and the liturgical colour of Pentecost on the day is red. The word itself means the fiftieth day.
We also celebrate the feast of The Visitation on May 31. During this event, a young Mary called upon her older cousin, Elizabeth, to relish the news of their miraculous pregnancies.
On Monday, we celebrated Foundation Day, the day our school was founded by the Sisters of Charity in 1958, opening with 46 children and three sisters of Charity.
In tradition, we celebrate each year with the story of Mary Aikenhead, the foundress of the Sisters of Charity, and present a special award in her name. We congratulate Maggie Herbert (Infants) and Jude Bartle (Primary) for exhibiting qualities that reach out to those in need, applying themselves in Religious Education and displaying reverence during Mass and liturgies.
We would like to thank all the parents, grandparents, family and friends that joined us on this special day for the Liturgy and Open Classrooms, as well as our very own Sr Kerry, for celebrating with us in spirit, the story of the Sisters of Charity.
It is a blessing to have such a wonderful community share with us such an amazing school. THANK YOU!
