A Blessing for the School Holidays
Sustaining God, caretaker of life, you are always present. You live in us.
Watch over our children during the break and keep us safe in your watchful gaze.
Bless our school community as we celebrate our holidays.
We make this prayer through Jesus our guardian.
Amen.
THANK YOU
I would like to thank staff, students and parents for a wonderful Term Two. It was certainly challenging in so many ways, however we all came together to adjust and address various issues and have started to settle down to school life again. I trust that you are looking forward to the upcoming holiday as a chance to unwind and relax, an exercise we all need.
PARENT/TEACHER CONVERSATIONS
I would like to thank our staff for their hard work in writing the Student Progress reports and for conducting the half-yearly conversations (interviews). I know that their work is very much appreciated by all parents and it is clear that the children on the whole tried extremely hard during their time of remote learning.
The school has prepared a whole-school plan in the case that we receive notification that one of our community members tests positive for COVID 19 . We hope and pray that everyone continues to remain strong and healthy, however if any family member does test positive in the holidays, parents are asked to ring the school telephone number and the call will be diverted to a mobile number.
PARENT- SCHOOL PARTNERSHIPS
This week we outline the second principle of the Parent- School Partnership Framework: Respecting Relationships, which is about building positive relationships of respect, trust and resilience. We live this in our communities by:
- Treating every person with courtesy, respect and positive regard
- Respecting parents as the primary educators of their child
- Respecting school leaders, teachers and school staff
- Assuming each member of the partnership is committed to the learning and wellbeing of each student
- Supporting relationships with regular and meaningful communication
- Adopting a positive attitude and seeking to proactively resolve any issues
- Approaching disagreements with an openness to respect the opinions of others, and a willingness to address concerns in an appropriate manner
- Accepting that not all responses to concerns can be resolved with mutual agreement.

Gospel
A reading from the holy Gospel according to Matthew
I am gentle and humble of heart.
Jesus exclaimed, ‘I bless you, Father, Lord of heaven and of earth, for hiding these things from the learned and the clever and revealing them to mere children. Yes, Father, for that is what it pleased you to do. Everything has been entrusted to me by my Father; and no one knows the Son except the Father, just as no one knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.
‘Come to me, all you who labour and are overburdened, and I will give you rest. Shoulder my yoke and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. Yes, my yoke is easy and my burden light.’
This is the Gospel of the Lord.

As we come to the end of Term 2, a very different Term 2, we all look forward to some rest and relaxation. It has been a very tiring term for the students and teachers and I’m sure for you the parents as well. Thank you for all your support with Religious Education during remote learning. We hope you have an enjoyable break with your children and look forward to returning to Term 3 with your children refreshed and ready for a more ‘normal’ term.
